Master stylist Lisa Martensen has once again nailed the vision, creating a Cowboy Graffiti look that is edgy and intriguing in a way that made our models into that casual ‘cool girl’ that everyone wants to either be or befriend.

“I channeled my ‘90s Guess Girl for inspiration,” she shared. “It needed to be a three-way blend of retro, country, and punk. The vision was to avoid looking too ‘pretty’, to let the eyes be a little messy – like you partied all night long!”

If you want to give “Graffiti Glam” a go, here are Lisa’s tips and product recs.

    GOING ‘GRAFFITI GLAM’
    BROW:

“You want a well-defined dark brow for this look. Normally, I go ‘furry and blurry’ with an eyeshadow powder, but if you’re comfortable with a brow pencil, this would be a time to use it.”

“The whole vibe is retro-punk, right, so we went with a bold black gel liner in a big ol’ fat wing. I did kind of a messy under eye smudge, and then finished it with the black eyeliner wing. The punk-girl effect is layered and lived-in. And I applied some fake lashes (they don’t have to be fancy, you can get these for like $5 at any drug store) but you know me, I either do zero mascara or full-on falsies – no in between!”

“I swear I’m not sponsored by RMS! I just love a lot of their products, particularly for cheek and lip. I am notorious for layering different products and shades of things, so I just kind of blended the bronzer, blush, and luminizer to achieve a sort of retro rosiness with a party-girl contour.”

“The eye is so heavy and dark, you definitely want to keep the lip light. I used a sheer pink gloss, which I think softened the look just a little, but you could also just do clear if you wanted. Avoid anything too dark or too bright, you want a neutral lip.”

    HAIR:

“Messy hair, piled high! Lots of texture – my go-to ‘liquid gold’ Oribe Texturizing Spray can give you texture in an instant, but if you don’t feel like spending fifty bucks, just skip washing it a couple days and use your favorite dry shampoo.”
