“This collection has a lot of sparkle and sizzle to it,” Lisa said. “It’s a fun collection, a Saturday-night-out collection, so the look is going to be a little more ‘dolled up’. And it’s sort of set in the ‘60s, so there’s a bit of that swanky element to it. It’s a feminine, flirty, going-out glam – and it’s really all about the eyes and lips.”
“Go with a full-coverage foundation and a good concealer,” she said. “This look is intentional, like ‘I got ready tonight’, rather than sun-kissed cowgirl that we sometimes go for. As far as choosing a foundation, that’s a really individualized thing, based on your skin type and also your age; the important thing is to make sure it matches. I set it with Laura Mercier’s Translucent Powder, the loose and the pressed, which will help you get a matte and flawless look. Remember to blend, blend, blend!”
“Tame them, groom them, and fill them in if you need to. Go with your natural arch, this look doesn’t really need a dramatic brow; again, it’s an intentional look, so a little less furry-and-blurry than we’ve done in the past.”
“Sweep a nude matte shadow across the lid and then line it with my go-to black MAC gel liner. Keep it clean and crisp with a subtle wing.”
“Back to another favorite of mine, the ladies probably have in their kit if they’ve followed my tutorials in the past – RMS Cream Blush in Demure. It’s that soft, flirty pink that gives the cheek more of a coquette blush than a bronze.”
“I like an orange-red lip for this look. I tend to layer lipsticks until I get what I’m looking for, but I do think NARS has a pretty red-orange called Heat Wave. Lipsticks are dependent on your complexion, but I like something in that color realm that works with your skintone. You want a silky texture – no sparkle! There’s enough sparkle in this collection already!” [You could also try the Dior Adoree lip if you got it for the Romance & Rustlers look!]
