Ancient meets modern in an unexpected application of upcycling.
These contemporary creations boast authentic bits of ancient puebloan pottery, unearthed and expertly crafted into pieces of southwestern jewelry in place of statement-sized specimen stones of turquoise or coral or spiny oyster. The shards (acquired from traders, dealers, and in some cases, the diggers themselves) are centuries old, and yet their geometric and monochromatic scheme lends an ultra-modern air – a testament to their timelessness.
