Necklace, Squash Blossom, Coral & Turquoise, Hallmark, Vintage ‘60s, 1221
IT’S NOT EVERY DAY THAT A PIECE OF JEWELRY ABSOLUTELY TAKES OUR BREATH AWAY, BUT THIS STUNNING SQUASH BLOSSOM DID JUST THAT.
Crafted by renowned Zuni jewelry artisan Jimmie (Jimmy) Long, this 1960s era has just about everything there is to love about Southwestern jewelry. The double-strand of polished sterling silver desert pearls features 12 beautiful blossoms, each boasting a trio of red coral cabochons and a single turquoise stone, all neatly set in teeny tiny (almost invisible) serrated bezels. The elaborate silver bar naja is adorned with 13 red coral cabochons and 6 turquoise stones in an ornate sterling silver arrangement. The colors on this thing are remarkable. The red is bold, the turquoise is beautiful, and the uniformity of them all is exquisite. It’s hard to take your eyes off of this beauty. A timeless collector unlike anything else you own!
