Necklace, Leather Thong, Turquoise, Naja, Jock Favour, 1142
A CHIC STRAP NECKLACE IS A SOUTHWESTERN STAPLE.
Crafted by Jock Favour, this unique necklace features a unique silver ingot naja with hands at the tips, accented with some stamped details and a center stone of natural Royston turquoise in a serrated bezel. The naja is affixed to a brown deerskin thong cord with silver bead adjusters. It’s a great piece for layering, but you can also wear it solo for a subtle pop of southwestern style.
Jock is an archaeologist so all of his work replicates the style as well as the process of early Navajo work. He uses all-natural stones that he mines and sets in the traditional manner.
Jock Favour (?-; Anglo). Active since the 1970s. Classic, hand-wrought; ingot; stamp and file work; set stones.
