Miscellaneous, Pack, Parfleche, Vintage
Fashioned after the Plains Indian parfleches, this handcrafted rawhide pack is a sure conversation starter.
This handcrafted parfleche pack is made of genuine rawhide laced with sinew. It is painted using natural dyes to depict graphic landscape elements of rivers and mountains. The pack closes with a matching flap and rawhide ties while its hardwood frame adds structure and portability.
Used in the Copwgirl's Closet: Cynthia catalog - a true collector item.
Note: A parfleche is a Native American rawhide container. Envelope-shaped parfleches have historically been used to contain items such as dried meats. In contemporary usage, they may carry social, spiritual, and symbolic meaning, or be part of traditional regalia.
