This beautiful work of art is not hallmarked but is thought to be the work of Zuni jewelry artisan husband-and-wife duo, Esther, and Martin Panteah*, due to the presence of hand-wrought round rope edging, which is Martin’s signature and a technique that is incredibly difficult to do so well. The vintage sterling silver cuff features deep stamp work grooves, and the focal point is the rib-design row of channel inlay stones of turquoise, mother of pearl, and black onyx. This fabulous find came from the estate of an avid vintage jewelry collector out of Houston and was originally acquired in the 1970s from the Gallup, New Mexico area. *Verified works of Esther and Martin Panteah also came from this same estate, adding to the likelihood that this was their work.
