This is a piece by the late Mark Simplicio, a talented Zuni artisan whose name you’ve likely heard if you’ve been a fan of DDR for long. The sterling silver slide features a striking inlay depiction of a horse in profile, crafted from tortoiseshell and mother of pearl, accompanied by two stones of bright blue turquoise, all set in tiny serrated bezels. The cord is a traditional braided leather tipped with sterling silver aiguillettes. A fun, unique piece for any cowboy or cowgirl!

Mike Simplicio (1937 - 1976; Zuni). Active 1950s - 1970s. Nugget work; appliqué. The late Mike Simplicio shared marks with his wife Sarah Simplicio. Son of Dan Simplicio.
