This funky, fabulous buckle is a vintage find crafted in the 1970s for Atkinson’s Trading Post. (The Atkinson brothers – Leroy, Jake, and Herman – established a series of trading posts in Arizona and New Mexico in the mid-20th century, opening Atkinson’s Trading Post in Scottsdale, AZ in 1956.)The unique sterling silver buckle is marked with the signature “AT” and is affixed to the original brown leather strap. It’s fun, it’s fabulous, it’s definitely one-of-a-kind!

Atkinson’s Trading Post (Shop). The Atkinson brothers, Leroy, Jake and Herman, established trading posts in Arizona and New Mexico, beginning withBox Canyon Trading Postand thenBrock Trading Post, Stateline Trading Post (later renamedRattlesnake Trading Post), theLost Canyon Trading Post, andIndian Village.  Herman Atkinson(1920-2009) and his wife Phillis (?-2012) openedAtkinson’s Trading Post in Scottsdale, AZ c. 1956. Numerous silversmiths produced for this company, especially in the 1970s.
