Navajo jewelry artisan and friend of DDR, Rethema Tsosie, (you may remember her daughter, Penelope Joe, from our Grand Canyon catalog) comes from a long line of jewelry artisans. Still residing on the Navajo reservation at Arizona/New Mexico border, Rethema continues the practice, creating contemporary southwestern jewelry in the traditional styles that have been passed down to them through generations. This hand-crafted creation is a lovely six-strand necklace of rich purple spiny oyster beads, finished with sections of heishi beads and sterling silver cones on an adjustable chain with a turquoise nugget dangle. Double D Ranch is honored to be collaborating with Rethema and Penelope, and pleased to be able to introduce their work to our audience.
