Double Talk

We had a lot of fun naming Matagorda, digging back through our childhood and high school days, reminiscing about best friends and old flames and things we hadn’t thought about in years. There are a lot of inside jokes in this collection, and we got Cheryl to spill the secrets on a few of the unusual color names in Matagorda.

Don’t get us wrong, we love designing every piece that goes in a collection, but c’mon, how can we not admit that the signature jackets of each season are a little bit our favorite? And Matagorda was extra fun, because we put a little of history in them; the jackets have a story.

Where does the inspiration for Double D Ranch come from? Short answer: everywhere. As we looked ahead to the 30th-anniversary collection of Double D Ranch, we found ourselves looking back, reflecting on all the experiences and adventures that have shaped us throughout our lives, from our roots to our road trips to our role models.

It feels like we’ve been looking ahead toward our 30th Anniversary Collection for so long, that it almost seems surreal that we’re on the precipice of the launch. But it’s here. We’re excited and we’re proud. We’re kicking off the 30th collection, I Go Back, with a trans-seasonal collection dedicated to our roots in Matagorda County.
